Biological Activity
| Description | Pitavastatin (NK-104) is a highly potent inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase with an IC50 of 6.8 nmol/L, which significantly enhances LDL receptor activity and lowers LDL cholesterol (LDL-C) levels. It also inhibits cholesterol synthesis in vitro and has the potential to manage hypercholesterolemia and reducing cardiovascular risk. |
