Biological Activity

Description

FOY251, an active metabolite of camostat mesilate, is an inhibitor of synthetic serine protease. FOY251 inhibits SARS-CoV-2 infection.

In vitro

FOY-251 decreases equivalent current (Ieq) in M-1 cells in a dose-dependent manner and inhibits the protease activity of prostasin in vitro.^[1]

In vivo

FOY-251 increases the circulating levels of FGF21 of transcription and plasma are maintained with induction of liver integrated stress response (ISR) transcription target genes up to 1 wk of treatment in both ob/ob and lean mice, also increases plasma FGF21 levels when dosed to DIO mice.^[3]
