In vivo (Add solvents to the product individually and in order)
Clear solution
5%DMSO 40%PEG300 5%Tween80 50%ddH2O
1.95mg/ml Taking the 1 mL working solution as an example, add 50 μL of 39 mg/ml clarified DMSO stock solution to 400 μL of PEG300, mix evenly to clarify it; add 50 μL of Tween80 to the above system, mix evenly to clarify; then continue to add 500 μL of ddH2O to adjust the volume to 1 mL. The mixed solution should be used immediately for optimal results.
Clear solution
5% DMSO 95% Corn oil
1.95mg/ml Taking the 1 mL working solution as an example, add 50 μL of 39 mg/ml clear DMSO stock solution to 950 μL of corn oil and mix evenly. The mixed solution should be used immediately for optimal results.
* <1 mg/ml means slightly soluble or insoluble.
* Please note that Selleck tests the solubility of all compounds in-house, and the actual solubility may differ slightly from published values. This is normal and is due to slight batch-to-batch variations.
* Room temperature shipping (Stability testing shows this product can be shipped without any cooling measures.)

Biological Activity

Description Bornyl acetate (Isobornyl, Bornyl acetic ether, 2-Camphanol), the main volatile constituent in numerous conifer oils and some Chinese traditional herbs, exhibits anti-inflammatory property and it is used as an analgesic.
In vitro Bornyl acetate induces dose-dependent growth inhibitory effects on human gastric cancer cells in vitro. Bornyl acetate potentiates the anticancer activity of 5-FU in human gastric cancer (SGC-7901) cells by inducing apoptosis, DNA fragmentation as well as G2/M cell cycle arrest[2].
In vivo Bornyl acetate downregulates the levels of proinflammatory cytokines in vitro and in vivo; reduces the number of total cells, neutrophils, and macrophages in BALF; attenuates the histologic alterations in the lung; decreases the wet-to-dry weight ratio in BALF; and suppresses NF-kappa-B inhibitor alpha, extracellular regulated protein kinases, c-JunN-terminal kinase, p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase activation[1].
Density 0.985 g/mL at 25 °C

Protocol (from reference)

Cell Assay:[1]
  • Cell lines

    RAW 264.7 cells.

  • Concentrations

    0-500 μg/mL

  • Incubation Time

    18 h

  • Method

RAW 264.7 cells are cultured with bornyl acetate (0-500 μg/mL) in the absence or presence of LPS (1 mg/L) for 18 h. Cell viability is assessed by MTT reduction assays.

Animal Study:[1]
  • Animal Models

    BALB/c mice

  • Dosages
