Description Sulfamerazine (RP 2632,sulphamerazine) is a sulfonamide antibacterial.

Sulfamerazine exhibits biexponential decay in water and triexponential decay in cyclodextrins solutions. Sulfamerazine shows remarkably upfield shift in the complexes suggested that the aniline ring deeply encapsulated in the CD cavity. [1]

In Vivo
In vivo

Sulfamerazine results in a marked evolution in the shape of the concentration-time curves in function of age, strongly suggesting a defective absorption rate in the first weeks after birth in lambs. [2] Sulfamerazine has a significantly beneficial effect on life span of rats and apparently increases that of male hamsters, and all rats fed sulfamerazine attains higher maximum weights than their controls. [3]
